Three youth crossing a park were attacked by a group of five unidentified men in Outer Delhi’s Begumpur area on Saturday evening.
“According to these three young people identified as Dilkash, Naeem and Ajmal, they were going towards their respective houses when a group of unidentified men allegedly in an inebriated condition stopped them. These men threatened the boys that if they did not say Jai Mata Di or Bharat Mata Ki Jai, the trio will be killed. Belonging to a different community, these three refused. Following which, the group attacked them with bamboo sticks. In the attack, Dilkash’s left arm got fractured and the other two suffered no injuries,” said Vikramjeet Singh, DCP (Outer).
“We have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC at Begumpur police station. We are trying to identify the accused persons with the help of CCTV footage. Investigation is underway,” said Singh.
A senior officer said that it is difficult to establish the exact sequence of events as by the time PCR vans reached the spot, only the three youth were there.
