Three BJP MLAs meet LG over ‘office of profit bill’

“The bill is completely against the norms as the matter is pending in Delhi high court. Delhi government has misused the time given by the court to amend the rules,” said Vijender Gupta, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. He further added that Delhi government and also the Speaker Ram Niwas Goel ignored their concerns on the matter.

Gupta was accompanied by O P Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan. “LG gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured it that he would get the matter examined and take appropriate action,” added Gupta.

The BJP delegation also urged Jung to take appropriate action in two other issues — <g data-gr-id="27">non</g> tabling the report of Fourth Delhi Finance Commission and alleged corruption in manipulating the results of MBBS entrance examination of Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University.

“The government not only amended the ‘rules of disqualification’ but implemented it from back date — July 14, 2014 — the date on which the AAP government came to power. The matter of disqualification of 21 AAP MLAs is pending in the Delhi high court for hearing on July 1,” added Gupta.

He further stated that if the report of Fourth Delhi Finance Commission is not implemented, civic bodies will  be stuck in deep financial crisis. “Delhi government must table this report in this current session or a special session should be called on this issue,” he added.

They questioned the bonafide of senior administrators of the university in the conduct of MBBS common Entrance Test held this year.
