This mega-meet will be a biennial event: CM Patnaik

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced that his state would hold the Make In Odisha Conclave biennially as a stepping stone towards realising the state’s Vision 2025.

Patnaik also announced that the state will have a convention centre and Trade Zone at Bhubaneswar named after Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das as a tribute to his contribution towards industrialisation of Odisha. The state government proposed to invest Rs 307 crore for building the convention centre and trade zone over 4,000 square feet carpet area.

Stating that conducive policy ecosystem and investment opportunities have helped the state to attract Rs 2.3 lakh crore investment, Patnaik said his government will set up a special institutional mechanism to ensure timely grounding of these investments.

Though a total of 82 companies came forward to invest in the state, Odisha Chief Secretary A P Padhi said there will be no MoU signing ceremony as held earlier. The companies may get their required plot from the Land Bank if desired, he said, adding the state will clear all formalities for setting up industries very soon.

If the project is a Green one, it will require to complete formalities in 15 days, state industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra said.
