Under fire from within the Bharatiya Janata Party for alleged financial irregularities, BJP president Nitin Gadkari, said that his party was being defamed. ‘There is an attempt to defame us, we are clean, There is no need to fear and we are ready to face any probe. I want to assure you that we have not done anything wrong,’ said Gadkari while  addressing the  BJP protest on Wednesday.

Gadkari alleged that  there is an attempt to malign the BJP as they are exposing the corruption and scams, of the government. ‘False allegations have also been levelled against the BJP, the Congress says if you speak against us, we will destroy you, whosoever wants to probe, can probe. We are not scared,’ said Gadkari.

Attacking the  UPA government, for misusing the CBI, Gadkari charged  that the  government has been able to survive only because of CBI, because whenever the opposition tries to bring no- confidence motion, government misuses CBI.

While talking about the hanging of Ajmal Kasab, Gadkari said that this decision was delayed by the government,  but questioned why Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru had not been sent to the gallows. ‘I want to ask the UPA govt why Afzal Guru has not been hanged even 10 yrs after the incident,’ asked Gadkari.
