That room with the view

I wish all days could be like this but tough luck! I am left to maximise my Saturdays with a vengeance.

But thanks to my highly enviable job, these brunches and live gigs are very much on the agenda. For starters try the brunch at Blooms, Eros Hotel, Nehru Place. We shall soon give you the lowdown on how brilliant the spread is. Shangri-La has their special winter brunches on as well - make sure you try both. Thigh High at Qutub is next on our list. And Amor at Hauz Khas village for the view, a relaible source swears by it!

NH7 Weekender and The South Asian Band Festival both concluded last Sunday. The musical gala at Purana Qila gets our thumbs up. Here’s why - the entry was free, you could get to the venue by auto and leave for home by auto - no highway business. The venue was incredible - it beat any other recent music fest hands down because the Purana Qila looks awesome at night, all lit up.

Plus despite being a considerably smaller gig, the South Asian Band festival had name like Strings, Papon, Raghu Dixit and Shushmit Sen playing to a huge crowd. I had to leave before Strings could play their encore but a friend filled me in - they played Saare Jahaan Se Accha on the bass guitar. Do we still need more reasons?

And we also managed to catch Shruti Pathak crooning some great ghazals at HRC on Thursday night. Win win!
