Ahead of Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s rally in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, there are reports that the 3 March political address could come under terror attack. According to reports, this time Indian Mujahideen is planning to execute the terror strike with the help of women present at the rally.

‘The terror organisation has motivated a female to convert herself as a suicide bomb who has been instructed to target Narendra Modi in either of the rallies in Bihar (Muzaffarpur, Purnia and Gaya). It has been learnt that the human bomb could be a pregnant woman,’ the source said.

The outfit is also propagating its idea in the region that Modi was the real culprit behind 2002 Gujarat riots despite Court giving clean chit to him in most of the cases.

Sources in Bihar police told Millennium Post about the recent inputs received by various state police regarding the possible terror strikes in Modi’s upcoming rally. Sources said, ‘Gujarat chief minister’s all three scheduled rallies in Bihar could come under terror attack. Recce of the areas where the rally is supposed to be held has been conducted by the sleeper cell of IM active in Bihar.’ Narendra Modi is scheduled to address three rallies in Nitish Kumar-ruled state starting from 3 March in Muzaffarpur, then in Purnia on 10 March and the last one will be in Gaya on 14 March.

The confessions made by Yasin Bhatkal, co-founder of IM, who was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Indo-Nepal border on 28 August 2013, also hinted that Modi was their prime target since Gujarat riots. Bhatkal told investigators that Iqbal and Riyaz Bhatkal, popularly known as Bhatkal brothers, used to discuss global issues with him. Also they had a long discussion on Gujarat riots.

‘Meetings were held in order to focus the rights and atrocities on Muslims living in Gujarat after the riots. After that, they planned to do some ‘act’ in the state at various places in 2008,’ Bhatkal told investigators. Thus, Bhatkal executed Ahmedabad blast on 26 July 2008 claiming 56 lives and injuring 200 persons.

Recently, on 27 October last year low intensity blasts had rocked Patna before Modi’s address to Hunkar Rally in Gandhi Maidan. Eight persons, including a militant belonging to IM were killed in the blast. On Tuesday, National Investigation Agency has arrested two suspects in connection to the blasts, but Tahsin Akhtar alias Monu, the key operative in the Patna rally blast case, is still at large.
