Upset over her parents scolding her, a 14-year-old girl jumped in Yamuna river from the flyover connecting east and north Delhi on Sunday. The girl, however, survived as people nearby jumped and fished her out. Neha, a resident of Geeta Colony in east Delhi, came running to the flyover and jumped. The parents were chasing her but she jumped  before they could catch hold  of her.

People, who had come for Ganesha idol immersion,  saw her and jumped after her into the river. ‘Her parents said they had scolded her for not studying properly, after which she took the extreme step,’ said police.
