Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday called for use of technology to counter corruption and also advocated its use in maintaining law and order. He stressed that CCTVs should be installed everywhere to monitor the law and order.

Inaugurating 20 Web-Computerised Centres of the state Registration Department here at his official residence, Yadav said that through technology, all the government websites should be linked to one such website so that people can assess the performance of the entire department.

‘My government is committed to serve the people and the state. Our aim is to make Uttar Pradesh as one of the most developed states of the country,’ he said.

When asked about corruption during the previous regime, CM said that his government has unearthed several scams and those former ministers who are involved in these cases were absconding. Yadav also announced that very soon e-stamping would be launched in the state so that there is more transparency in the working of government departments.

The CM said that rules have been formulated for launching e-stamping in the state. ‘After the launch of e-stamping the entire government department would be computerized and the functioning would
 be more transparent,’ he said.
