Tech Mahindra Q2 profit rises 9% to Rs 786 crore

Country’s fifth largest IT services firm Tech Mahindra on Tuesday reported 9.1 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 785.63 crore for the quarter ended September 30. This is against the net profit of Rs 719.64 crore during the July-September period of last fiscal, 2014-15. 

The Mumbai-based company’s revenues increased by 20.54 per cent to Rs 6,615.54 crore for the reported quarter, from Rs 5,487.90 crore in the same quarter a year ago. In dollar terms, the net profit stood at $119.3 million and revenues were $1.01 billion in the period under review. 

Tech Mahindra’s active client count stood at 788 in the second quarter of this fiscal compared to 770 in the preceding quarter. The company added 1,562 professionals during the quarter to take the total headcount to 1,05,235. Of these, 71,657 people were with the software business, while 26,513 were in BPO operations.
