“Kejriwal will hold an hour-long live interactive session with people on July 17 at 11 am and take their questions through Twitter, Facebook, phone calls and text messages,” a government official said.
The government has launched a dedicated website — talktoak.com — through which people can directly ask their questions. The media team of the Chief Minister has also created a dedicated twitter handle ‘TalkToAK_’ for the programme.
This move holds importance as the Aam Aadmi Party, headed by Kejriwal, is gearing up for Assembly elections in Goa, Punjab and Gujarat.
“People can also Call on 011-23392999 to get in a conversation with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and
they can SMS on 91-8130344141 and share their opinions with Delhi CM Kejriwal,” the official added.
“Talk to AK is a reflection of Arvind Kejriwal’s personality. He is not fond of monologues and spends time speaking to people to understand their problems are. This serves a twin purpose — people’s grievances are addressed and a policy is framed so that the same grievances do not recur.
When he was in Goa, he spent a good amount of time talking to the youth there. He did something similar in Punjab as well,” said senior party leader Ashish Talwar.
“It is not a ‘trends’ game. And it is not right to compare it with the PM’s Mann ki Baat. People across the country have seen Modi’s two years of governance. They haven’t, however, seen the governance model in Delhi and the curiosity levels are high,” he said.
