Swaraj helps distressed woman, daughter living in Germany camp

An Indian woman in distress and her daughter, living at a refugee camp in Germany, are being sent back to India, after she appealed to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for help. "We have brought Gurpreet and her 8-year-old daughter from the refugee camp to our Consulate in Frankfurt," Swaraj tweeted.

Swaraj said Gurpreet and her daughter will land in New Delhi from Frankfurt at 9.35 am on Thursday. Gurpreet, posted a short video on Twitter, requesting Swaraj for help. She had alleged that she and her daughter had been kept at a camp in Germany by her husband's family. Following this, Swaraj directed the Indian Consulate General in Frankfurt to help her.

Swaraj also complimented Indian Ambassador to Germany Gurjit Singh and Consul General in Frankfurt Raveesh Kumar for helping the woman and her child.
