A Delhi Police Sub-Inspector on Friday was arrested on charges of criminal breach of trust for not submitting all the documents of 32 criminal cases registered at the Mangolpuri police station. The accused, identified as Brijendra Dahiya is currently posted in the Aman Vihar police station of Outer District.

Posted at the Mangolpuri police station from 2011 to 2014 as a Sub-Inspector, Dahiya has been accused of not submitting the complete documents and evidence related to cases due to charge-sheets not being filed. He has also been accused of not maintaining the Duty Dairy, a record kept by police officials on the number of cases which are registered at their respective police station every day. Arvind Kumar, the current Station House Officer (SHO) of Mangolpuri police station filed a complaint against the former SHO, Dahiya on Tuesday based on which the arrest was made, police said.

In December 2014, Dahiya was allegedly transferred from the Mangolpuri police station to the Aman Vihar police station, both of which are part of the Outer District police.

Confirming the arrest, senior police officials of the Outer district refused to divulge any more details regarding the cases which were handed over to sub-inspector Dahiya during his tenure at the Mangolpuri police station.

The case registered against Brijendra Dahiya will be taken up by an inspector level official of the Mangolpuri police station, the police said.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered under Section 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code at the Mangolpuri police station against Dahiya. Further investigation is underway.
