Working for an another cause UMAK Centre for Culture brought us the two-day UMAK Festival that kicked started on 2 June at the India Habitat Centre. The festival was organised in support of Outcome Foundation for ailing the cancer patients in India.

The festival is held every year and this year it featured an orchestral ensemble and dance presentation  by the students of  UMAK Centre for Culture. The opening day of the festival featured  sitar recitals by Pandit Debu Chaudhuri (Padma Bhushan Awardee ).

 The second  day of the festival featured another grand affair  featuring the famous sitarist of India  Pandit Prateek Chaudhuri  and a Santoor Jugalbandi concert  by Santoor Maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopri (Padmashri Awardee ) and his son Abhay Sopori. In addition, the maestros were also accompanied by famous tabla player Ustad Akram Khan and Ustad Rafiuddin Sabri.
