Vijender Gupta, Delhi BJP president, on Thursday, castigated Delhi government and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for the apathy towards east Delhi Municipal Corporation.

'EDMC has not been provided basic infrastructure and facilities for even running the office. The bailing provided to EDMC lacks necessary space and facilities such as telephone connection, water, power and even stationary,' said Gupta in a press conference at Delhi Pradesh office of BJP. 'She just pursued her agenda of trifurcation of erstwhile MCD into three but did not visualise the problem at the initial stage,' added Gupta.

According to him, the building provided to EDMC for official accommodation does not have necessary permits of DDA, Fire Service and Delhi Police. 'A local body should be given the required infrastructure and facilities to serve people within their municipal limit, which is the primary responsibility of the government of Delhi,' alleged Gupta.

He also supported the decision of Mayor Annapurna Mishra to hold the meeting of the house in a tent and asserted that all the three corporations of Delhi would continue to work for the people of Delhi despite obstacles by Delhi government.
