A 15-year-old Class IX student was allegedly raped by her step-father in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri. The accused, Salim, has been arrested. According to the police officials, the girl was being raped for quite sometime by her step–father. She had also complained that he used to beat her up. ‘She did not speak out earlier about the rape due to fear,’ said a police official. According to the police, on the day of the latest incident, the victim was alone in the house when Salim came into the room and misbehaved with her.
When she defended herself, he threatened her with dire consequences. ‘The victim complained to her mother about the incident, and then the complaint was registered,’ said a police official. The victim was then sent to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, which confirmed rape. The accused was arrested immediately. ‘We are probing into the matter and further investigation is in process,’ said a police official.
