SSB arrests man in Darjeeling for carrying drugs

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) officers have arrested a 54-year-old man Kesh Bahadur Gurung from near Panitanki in Darjeeling when he was carrying a consignment of drug worth Rs 1.1 crore.

Investigation revealed that the 7.33 kg of dark brown colour hashish was brought from somewhere in Nepal and the consignment was meant for a metro city. Gurung was asked to hand over the consignment to another person after reaching Siliguri. But he was arrested before reaching his residence. The vigil in the areas has been intensified after recovery of a huge cache of explosives and gelatin sticks.
