New Delhi: Amjad Khan, a rising international boxing promoter and founder of AKBTC (Amjad Khan Boxing Training Center). Recently Mr. Khan met the former Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari and his wife Mrs. Salma Ansari. During the meet, they shared their views regarding sports and praised AKBTC's effort in dishing out future boxers and nurturing them. The former vice president also assured the founder of "elevating the foundation to new heights".
In a boost to the foundation and the aspiring boxers, Dr. Ansari alloted a patch of land of about 1000 sq.ft around his Al Noor charity run school to facilitate the establishment of an international level boxing training center in Aligarh. The aim is to churn out quality boxers to compete at international and noted national events as time advances. The academy will also open doors for budding boxers in school and around the city of Aligarh. The NGO named 'AL Noor charity' is funded by the former politico's wife Mrs. Salma Ansari and currently provides free education for approx 1800 impoverished children each year, from extremely marginalized and under privileged families across Aligarh, UP.
Amjad Khan has been encouraged and appreciated for his service to promote boxing amongst less privileged youth in India. The former international boxer also shared about his training center that is working for the welfare of boxers and promotion of sport all the while encouraging less privilege youth to build up interest in boxing to bring about self-discipline in life as well as bring fame to the nation by winning medals at highest levels of the sport as done in the past by the likes of Vijender Singh, Mary Kom, Shiva Thapa etc.
Khan's longtime passion for boxing has provided the necessary fuel required to develop the game at the grass-root level and establishing a foundation to facilitate the sport by providing a platform to aspiring boxers to express themselves and also nurturing them.
The AKBTC's aim is to create a not-for-profit boxing training facility for passionate youth in govt school campuses as well which will pave way for less privileged youth to participate in State and National level competitions. The objective of the Boxing facility in schools is to offer an opportunity for maximum development of youth talent through training and nurturing of their skills in this emerging sport in India.
