Sports is essential for all round development, said D K Bandyopadhyay, Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) on Friday. He was inaugurating the 9th Sports Meet of the University being organised at Dwarka campus. In the inaugural march past, the team of St Stephen college was adjudged first and the team of Kamal Institue of Higher Education was declared runner up. The three-day mega event will conclude on 11 November. For the first time, marathon is being organised in both men and women categories.According to chairman of core co -ordination Committee of 9th sports meet, C S Rai, apart from university schools, around 10,000 students of 65 affiliated colleges of the university are participating in 27-odd sports events.
