Special Cell arrests notorious criminal from Mathura

The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a notorious criminal Sher Khan who had a reward of Rs 50 thousand on his head announced by the Delhi Police and Rs 15 thousand from the UP police. 

He was arrested from the area of Barsana police station, Mathura, UP after a brief encounter in the wee hours of Tuesday. 

One automatic sophisticated 9 mm carbine with 20 live cartridges, one semi-automatic sophisticated pistol of 7.65 mm with 9 live cartridges and one stolen Apache motorcycle were recovered from his possession.

Last year in December, Madhya Pradesh Police were escorting five gangsters from Ujjain jail to Bhondsi jail. In the area of Nuh, Mewat, the gangsters namely Sher Khan, Sahun, Fauji, Sarvar Pahalwan and Liyakat gave sedative-laced milk to the police personnel and escaped from custody along with their weapons.

Sher Khan admitted that after escaping from police custody he along with Sahun and Lilu, alias Fauji, took shelter in different hideouts. Whenever police teams raided their hideouts, they used to flee towards South India.

“Sher Khan disclosed that he along with Sahun and Fauji committed one kidnapping for ransom, two petrol pump robberies, ten carjackings, two ATM robberies, six truck-jackings etc in different states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharastra and Telengana,” said DCP Special Cell P S Kushwah.
