The families had migrated to India a couple of months back in search of a ‘better life’ in India.

'All children residing in India whether of Indian citizenship or not are welcome to study in our schools. There is no legal issue regarding admission. We will accept the age of the children as given by their parents, to maintain our records,' said Manish Gupta, municipal commissioner of South DMC.

There are around 500 families living in Bijwasan area who recently migrated from Pakistan and South DMC is the first government agency which has offered them such facilities.

The corporation has also decided to deploy a mobile health van in the area to provide medical help and also basis civic amenities.

The decision came on the direction of the Standing Committee chairman of South DMC, Rajesh Gehlot.
