According to sources, apart from ‘injury number 10’ that was an injection mark, six micro holes were found on her dress that points towards foul play. On that basis, a case under the section of murder has been lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station.
During examination, it was observed that the traces of an unknown poison was found near the six micro holes spotted on her dress. The circumstantial evidences including the post-mortem examination report alleges that there were 15 external injury marks on her body including one injection mark on her finger.
But after this detection, the SIT team, headed by DCP (South) Prem Nath, Additional DCP PS Kushwah, are trying to fill in the loopholes in the investigation of these two facts. “It seems that the culprit who has poisoned Sunanda tried to inject the poison six times, but somehow failed to do so. In his seventh attempt the unidentified accused has injected the poison through the finger of the right hand,” a source said.
Webbing the sequence of crime, the source further added: “It is quite possible that to avoid Sunanda’s protests while injecting the poison, she was given Alprax tablet so that she falls asleep and would not react to the attempt.” The investigating officers found it strange that the poison was injected through her finger. “Usually, any injection is given in the arm. May be she was injected in the finger to avoid suspicion. In the autopsy report, a needle prick was found in the finger,” the source added.
It would take at least a couple of months more to know the nature of the poison that was found inside her body. After obtaining Letter Rogatory from the concerned court, the viscera samples would be send to foreign laboratories.
