“An SIT has been constituted to probe the Petlawad incident,” the CM had said on Monday. The Chief Minister had also asserted that the main accused in the massive tragedy, Rajendra <g data-gr-id="21">Kasawa</g>, will be tracked down and arrested soon.
The SIT will be headed by Additional SP, Seema Alaa and will comprise Town Inspectors Karan Singh <g data-gr-id="22">Sakhtawat</g>, <g data-gr-id="23">Aishvarya</g> Shastri, Ram Chandra <g data-gr-id="24">Bhaskare</g> along with Sub Inspectors Ram Charan Patil and Ashutosh <g data-gr-id="25">Mithas</g> and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Anita Tomar, said Jhabua District Superintendent of Police (SP), GG Pandey.
Chouhan, who visited Petlawad twice on Monday, has announced a slew of relief measures for those who have lost their kin in the explosion.
The Chief Minister has visited a total of 17 villages to express solidarity with those who lost their near and dear ones in the blast on Saturday in mining explosives which were stored in a building located in a crowded area of Petlawad town in Jhabua district.
The blast completely destroyed at least two buildings – the one in which the explosive material for digging wells was stored, and an adjacent restaurant – besides damaging several houses.
Prime accused family detained
The police have detained <g data-gr-id="38">kin</g> of prime accused in Petlawad blast, which claimed 80 lives. Narendra and Phoolchand Kaswa, brothers of key accused Rajendra Kaswa, along with his wife and son were caught. A senior police official said: “Significant development has taken place in the case. We have been able to detain close family members of <g data-gr-id="39">Kaswa</g>, which will help in knowing his whereabouts.”
