A good many times we all want to scream, Shut up, Internet! And that is the theme of debutant artist Suchitra Gehlot. Her single piece installation will be on display in the Capital.
The jars are arranged in a linear fashion and suspended from the ceiling in line with the viewer’s gaze. These sixty suspended jars contain forty thousand emails dating from year 1995, that have been torn to pieces.
Bits of paper fly to a controlled turbulence in each jar. It’s hypnotic watching shards fly about. The viewer will be able to catch glimpses of notes for a few seconds. ‘These seemingly self-contained cells of chaos are reflective of my own struggles with digital living,’ says Gehlot.
