The 40th edition of world’s largest handicrafts and gifts fair, IHGF-Delhi Fair Autumn 2015 (earlier known as IHGF) will be held from October 14 – 18 at India Expo Centre & Mart in the national Capital.
Over 2700 exhibitors of handicrafts drawn from all over the Country will be exhibiting a wide range of products spread over in 14 halls covering around 1,90,000 <g data-gr-id="20">sq</g>. <g data-gr-id="21">mtrs</g> area.
The fair will be inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union Minister of State for Textiles, G Ganga Raju, Member of Parliament from Narsapuram, Andhra Pradesh, Vimla Batham, MLA of Gautam Budh Nagar, SK Panda, Secretary (Textiles), Ministry of Textiles, JK <g data-gr-id="24">Dadoo</g>, Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Commerce & Textiles, Rama Raman, Chairman – GNIDA and Alok Kumar, Development Commissioner(Handicrafts) will also be present during inaugural ceremony. The Indian Expo Centre & Mart was first opened in 2006 with 8 exhibition halls built up at two levels each covering 35000 <g data-gr-id="25">sq</g> <g data-gr-id="26">mtrs</g> space with Central Function Building, Restaurants, halls for seminars, conferences, conventions, business rooms and a huge parking lot. The exhibition venue will now have over 72,000 <g data-gr-id="27">sq</g>. <g data-gr-id="28">mtrs</g> area covering 14 permanent halls.
All the halls will now be equipped with modern amenities to help provide <g data-gr-id="33">good</g> business environment to the exhibitors and the overseas buyers as informed by Shri Rakesh Kumar, Chairman-India Expo Centre & Mart and ED-EPCH.
Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts [EPCH], organiser of this fair, have so far organised 39 editions of the IHGF in series, which has come to be recognised as “<g data-gr-id="23">One stop</g> sourcing event” amongst the overseas buying community and as most effective marketing medium amongst the Indian exporting community.
The product categories on display will be houseware, tableware, kitchenware and <g data-gr-id="22">hotelware</g>.
Handmade paper items and greeting cards, lamps and lighting, chandeliers, <g data-gr-id="29">lampshades</g>, lanterns, decorative articles and giftware, garden ornaments, lawn accessories, sustainable products, jute, cane, bamboos, natural fibres, <g data-gr-id="30">handwoven</g> mats, educational games, trophies, games, toys etc. The show, apart from offering opportunity to the exhibitors and the buyers will also host a series of activities including fashion shows, informative seminars and discussions on various relevant topics, cultural performances by Indian artists, live demonstration by artisans etc.
