BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan has accused Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit of belittling Lokayukta during her 15 years rule.
‘The directions of Lokayukta in Delhi were never followed and his adverse remarks on ministres and chief minister were ingnored,’ said Vardhan. He further alleged that the Congress government at the centre also shielded Sheila Dikshit from the wrath of Lokayukta. ‘The Lokayukta in Delhi has been made a toothless institution but Congress has not made any promise to strengthen it in its manifesto,’ alleged Vardhan.
Vardhan called upon people to use their wisdom and not fall for the hollow promises of Dishit and her party members. ‘She makes all the tricks to win the vote of people by projecting herself as a well wisher of the poor but you must judge her based on her performance in the last 15 years,’ he added.
Vardhan reminded the people that Dikshit’s promise to regularise unauthorised colonies before last assembly elections on which ‘no work was done in five years’. ‘There are shanties even behind the bunglow of Congress scion Rahula Gandhi. Her constituency has several slums,’ he added asking the people to dislodge ‘anti-people’ government of Dikshit from power.
