Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will lay the foundation stone down for the Rs 3.93 crore projects at Bawana Assembly Constituency on Saturday.
This would be the third mega project of Public Works Department (PWD) Earlier, a Rs 559.60 crore project to construct 3.3 km elevated road from Vikaspuri to Meera bagh that will zip over the five intersections, was kick started by Dikshit.
The Delhi government also laid the foundation for the Rs 530 crore project, the second phase of the Barahpullah elevated roads, which would connect Jawahar Nehru stadium to INA market and reduce the distance between east Delhi, Mayur Vihar, Noida And south Delhi.
According to Delhi PWD minister Raj Kumar Chauhan the Delhi government is taking up strengthening and widening of roads as well as the construction of RCC box, centre verge and providing reflective road signages. ‘These projects were transferred from the Delhi Municipal Corporations with an estimated cost of Rs 1,800 crore. These roads are not motorable and have been deteriorating badly,’ Chauhan said.
PWD is also taking measures to improve rural roads.
