A special CBI court hearing the sensational Sheena Bora murder case on Monday pulled up Thane jail officials for not producing one of the accused, Shyamvar Rai, before the court. “I will initiate contempt proceedings,” special CBI Judge HS Mahajan said while directing the officials to produce Rai on May 11.

Rai, former driver of prime accused Indrani Mukerjea, had written an application to the court. The court is now likely to hear it on May 11. The court also directed Indrani and other accused in the case, her husband Peter Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna, to be present on the next date of hearing.

Meanwhile, the court also directed CBI to file its written submission on Peter’s bail plea on May 13, failing which the court said it will fix the matter for passing the order. Peter’s application for bail had been rejected in the past.

The judge also directed Indrani to follow instructions of jail authorities who have complained that she was not taking her medicines for blood pressure. Indrani is lodged in women’s prison at Byculla here.

“I have received a complaint from jail authorities that you refuse to take medicines and you are continuously walking in barrack,” Mahajan told Indrani.

Indrani, who was present in court room, told court that her blood pressure was low. Her lawyer assured the court that she will follow the court’s directions.
