On Wednesday, the girl told her parents she didn’t want to go to school since her cab driver was molesting her from past one week.
A case has been registered at Shakarpur police station against Dharmendra (29), the driver. He was arrested from his house in Kalyanpuri. The driver was hired about a year ago when the girl joined the school.
‘Initially, the victim didn’t reveal the incident to her parents as the driver has threatened her of dire consequences. But on Wednesday, when she refused to go to school, her mother got suspicious. Upon asking her repeatedly the girl broke out and narrated her ordeal,’ a police official said.
Her parents immediately rushed to police station and filed a complaint against the accused. ‘The van in which he had allegedly molested the girl was also seized,’ the officer added.
The girl was sent for counselling in the presence of her mother. ‘We have approached the parents of other students who used to travel in the same cab, to check whether he molested any other child also,’ added the officer. Meanwhile, Dharmendra has been booked under the relevant sections of POSCO Act.
Meanwhile, in another horrifying incident, a minor girl was gang-raped by five persons including three juveniles on late Wednesday night in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar area. Out of the five accused, Delhi Police managed to arrest three persons while remaining two are still absconding.
According to the police, the victim, who is a 16-year-old said in her statement on Wednesday that she had met one of the juveniles, who was her friend, in the market place. The duo went to the railway tracks in Madhu Vihar area. Before they could reach the railway tracks, two other juveniles also joined them.
In the mid-way, one of them pointed a knife at her and forcibly took her to an isolated place near the tracks. The victim told police that two more persons were waiting at the crime scene. All five accused took turns to rape her.
