BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday filed a complaint at Parliament Street police station alleging that he was threatened by an unknown person over mobile phone for batting for Narendra Modi government on television debates.
According to Hussain, at around 11.30 pm when he was on his way to his residence from Delhi airport after he had returned from Patna, he received a call from a Dubai number.
In his complaint, he also told police that the caller abused him for batting for the Narendra Modi government on television debates and asked him to leave the party or else face repercussions, and that even prime minister Narendra Modi would not be able to save him. The caller also abused Modi. He told police that he got two calls from the caller. Both times, he abused Hussain and threatened him of dire consequences. On early Sunday morning at around 4 am, Hussain reached Parliament Street police station and registered an FIR against the unknown caller. ‘We have registered a case under relevant sections and investigations have been taken up,’ said a senior police official. We have kept the phone on surveillance to establish the identity of the caller.
