A day after a 23-year-old Russian girl who was rescued from the house of businessman Pritindra Nath Sanyal arrested on the charges of running a human trafficking racket in South Delhi came to Delhi, Delhi Police claim that there is a strong possibility that Colonel Ajay Ahlawat, a retired Armyman, whose name cropped up while rescuing the Russian girl, will be arrested shortly.
Senior police officers of the South district said that they have identified and traced the location of Ahlawat. However, they are withholding the location to avoid hampering the investigation.
It is important to mention that Ahlawat’s name cropped up when the 23-year-old Russian woman was rescued from Sanyal’s residence in South Delhi during the I-T raid. She told police that Ahlawat introduced her to Sanyal after which her passport was forcibly kept by Sanyal in his custody. She further disclosed about human trafficking of foreign nationals especially of women from Central Asian countries. A senior cop said that during Sanyal’s interrogation, he told them that he was in touch with Ahlawat since March this year. Police said that they have sent notices to Ahlawat to join the investigation, he did not show up. Based on which, teams are working and efforts are on to nab Ahlawat soon.
