The South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Tuesday approved the layout plan of two unauthorised colonies Rajouri Garden Extension and Shakti Vihar.
However, the plans were not handed over to the Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWA) because they have not submitted the fee so far.
These colonies are among 312 unauthorised colonies located on private land recently regularised by the Delhi government. ‘We have approved the layout plan of two colonies — Rajouri Garden Extension in West Delhi and Shakti Vihar, Meethapur in Najafgarh area. However, we can’t hand over the layout plans to the RWAs until they deposit the required fee,’ said Rajesh Gehlot, chairman of SDMC’s standing committee.
Delhi government had regularised 895 unauthorised colonies in September last year and asked municipal bodies to prepare their layout plans for putting in place the basic infrastructure there. All the hurdles in carrying out developmental projects in 312 colonies, which came up on private land, were removed.
Both the colonies have been directed to maintain the minimum width of internal roads at minimum 6 metre and development charges will be collected from them with effect from 4 September, 2012, that is the date of the regularisation of the colony.
