A 16-year-old boy was found dead near a railway track in Gyani border area of Sahibabad in the district, with parents alleging it to be a case of murder.
A Class XI student, Gaurav went missing after he left for school on Friday morning and did not return, a senior police officer said, adding that his body was recovered late last night by a passerby who later informed the police.
According to the police, prima facie evidence and injury marks on the minor’s body indicate that he died after falling off a moving train, but the victim’s kin suspect foul play.
The minor’s father Ameen, a resident of Vijay Nagar area and works with the state Sales Tax department, has registered a complaint of murder at the Sahibabad police station.
He had also filed a missing complaint of his son at Vijay Nagar police station.
‘On parents’ complaint, police is interrogating Gaurav’s friends, teachers and neighbours to get leads in the case,’ the officer added.
