Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed met Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptulla in the state capital on Sunday and discussed various issues, including the hardships faced by students studying under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).
The CM met Heptulla this morning and Member Parliament. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti was also present on the occasion, an official spokesman said. During their meeting, Sayeed discussed various issues, especially those related to better use of Wakf properties so as to make these revenue-generating assets, hardships faced by students pursuing studies outside the state under PMSSS and release of post-matric scholarship to the students of the state. The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that she will take up on priority the issues deliberated upon in the meeting, the spokesman said.
The CM said Heptulla also discussed with him the new scheme –USTAAD – launched by her ministry for skill development of youth, which is aimed at improving their employability in the private and government sectors.
J&K CM’s lighter side journalists in splits
During an informal talk with journalists on Sunday, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed revealed his lighter side as he spoke about theatres, Press Club and his “cells”. Known to be a ‘serious politician’, Sayeed was at his wittiest in public life and had the scribes in splits while he answered ‘questions’. He said he had instructed his security to behave well with all, including scribes.
