Salgaocar will look for a win to boost their title race when they take on Sporting Cube Goa in a must-win suitation in the 25th round of the I-League to be played at Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Tuesday. Salgaocar, who lost to Rangdejied United, bounced back in the reckoning for the title race after beating Pune FC in their last match and are placed second with 37 points from 22 matches, four points behind leaders Bengaluru FC.
They now need to win both their remaining matches and see Bengaluru FC lose both their matches if they are to win the title. On the other hand, Sporting Clube de Goa, who was in the fray for the title race along with Bengaluru FC, East Bengal and Salgaocar, are out of the reckoning after they drew against Churchill Brothers in the last match to take the fourth place with 33 points from 22 matches.
