Bharatiya Janata Party president, Nitin Gadkari, though was a relieved man, when he received the backing of the party and the Rashtriya SwamSevak Sangh(RSS) on his continuation as the president of the party. However, his continuation seems to be doubtful and  BJP leadership will now be focussing on what emerges out of RSS's Akhil Bharateeya Karyakari Mandal, which will be held in Chennai from 2 Nov.

The 3 day meeting will have Mohan Bhagwat and  Bhayyaji Joshi  presiding over it.  The ABKM is held twice a year and top leaders of state units of RSS from all across the country take part. Though officially the agenda of the meeting will be to review the future planning of the party, along with  resolutions on key national issues, there could also be disscussion  on whether BJP president should be given the second term or not.

‘MEDIA IS DEFAMING ME’

Back home after securing endorsement from his party, a combative Nitin Gadkari on Monday threatened to file civil and criminal cases against media houses ‘defaming’ him as part of a ‘conspiracy’ hatched by the Congress. ‘Certain media groups are acting as ‘dalals’ (agents) of Congress party. Two English TV channels and one English national daily are behind the vicious campaign against me and are playing into the hands of Congress,’ Gadkari said addressing his supporters here on return from Delhi.
