Four unidentified men allegedly robbed employees of a petrol pump of Rs 36 lakh at gunpoint at North-east Delhi’s Nand Nagri area on Tuesday morning. Investigators said that the incident took place when the employees were going to a nearby bank to deposit the money, adding that the employees are being questioned. According to the police, the incident took place at around 11.30 am when three to four employees of a petrol pump riding their motorcycles were intercepted by a Maruti Alto car on the Nathupura flyover.
Police said that four persons came out of the car. One of them whipped out a pistol, pointed at the petrol pump employees and snatched the bag full of cash. An investigating officer said they are probing the matter from all angles. One of the employees was Bir Singh, brother of the petrol pump owner. The employees told cops that they were going to the Axis Bank in Durgapuri when they were robbed of the cash. Police said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC at the Nand Nagri police station against unknown persons. Police added that they are scanning through the CCTV cameras of the spot where the incident took place to establish the exact sequence of events and to establish the identity of the accused. Further investigation is underway.
