Motivated by Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu’s swift actions to rescue aggrieved passengers, a senior Northern Railways official also came to the rescue of an NRI passenger. Rajni Chawla, a resident of California, who had come to India to see her parents lost her wallet at New Delhi railway station while boarding a train to Ajmer. According to the information officer, the wallet was noticed by the station Superintendent, who communicated with Rajni through Facebook by searching her name on the social networking site. On December 18, Sharma handed over the ‘lost’ wallet to Rajni after asking a few questions in order to establish her identity. “We appreciate the help of Station Superintendent for his prompt action. If it had fallen into wrong hands, we would have had to face bad time,” said Rajni father, who resides in Ashok Vihar.
