One of the awkward moments of the evening was between Gervais and actor-filmmaker Mel Gibson.
While introducing the filmmaker, Gervais said, “Listen, I’m sure it’s embarrassing for both of us and I blame NBC for this terrible situation. Mel blames we know who Mel blames. I still a feel bit bad for him. Mel has forgotten all about it, apparently, that’s what drinking does,” the host began.
“I want to say something nice about Mel before he comes out... I’d rather have a drink with him in his hotel room tonight than Bill Cosby,” Gervais quipped.
“I love seeing Ricky once every three years because it reminds me to get a colonoscopy,” Gibson said.
