A 64-year-old retired government official had to come down to the streets and distribute pamphlets about the deteriorating management of Vikaspuri area. Despite repeated written complaints to senior Delhi Police officials of the West District, K K Sharma, a retired Motor Licensing Officer represents the voiceless common man of West Delhi.

Standing outside Dr Narang’s house, the senior citizen, an ex-Defence personnel was waiting for Joint Commissioner of Police (South-west) Dependra Pathak to come so that he could give him a pamphlet.

“I came to live in Vikaspuri in the ’80s. Working in the Motor Licensing department, I retired in 2012. Like any resident of the Panchdeep CGHS locality, I was asked to pay Rs 708 for water pump maintenance. Although 104 more residents were asked to pay the amount, the henchman, R K Mudgal of the Vikaspuri MLA Mukesh Sharma, who is the secretary of the society forged a fake account and through some laser pen tricked me to pay Rs 11, 55,000. when I consulted the bank where I have an account, they clearly said that this much money won’t be given.”

He further said: “My next step was to approach the local police station but a constable came to my house and phsyically assaulted me. I then approached DCP Pushpendra Kumar. However, they did not register an FIR. Total ten diary entries have been made till March 12 this year and I have all the concerned documents. All I want is police should at least lodge a case against those filthy people who have made my life miserable. They think that by influencing the local police, they can silence me. I am a strong person, Ma’am. I will continue my fight till my last day,” said K K Sharma.

Talking about how he has approached senior cops like Dependra Pathak and Deepak Mishra, Sharma said, “I am a duty abiding citizen of this country and I have a right to get an FIR registered. After the death of Dr Narang, I want to raise the atrocities done to me. I have a short life but I do not want to live in fear of these filthy people.”

Meanwhile, Joint CP Dependra Pathak said: “I am not aware of this case. If something like this has happened, strict action will be taken against the culprits. Law is equal for all.”
