Residents suffer power cuts, lack of accountability

Update: 2014-07-14 00:40 GMT
Delhiites are suffering because of the lack of an accountable government in the national capital. Faced with power cuts that run into several hours, residents of the national capital are really feeling the heat.
They are completely fed up with erratic power supply. What adds to the frustration is the fact that all helplines have collapsed. Despite claims made by Reliance-owned discoms about adequate preparations to meet the rising power demand, unscheduled outages were reported from many areas of the city.
During this power crisis period, all helplines are almost useless as they are not easily accessible for
consumers during the
nights. BSES (Rajdhani) -39999707 and BSES (Yamuna) consumers’ helpline 39999808 do not get connected easily.
There is no help insight in the absence of an elected government in the city. While Delhi lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung has issued frequent warnings to the discoms, not much has happened on the ground.
