At the age when Bengali youth almost inevitably writes poetry, I was listening to European classical music,’ said Satyajit Ray.

Filmmaker, artist, illustrator, author and quintessential Bengali and yet not, Ray took Indian cinema to the world and came to be regarded as ‘one of the greatest auteurs of world cinema’ in his lifetime.

He created movies and characters that were magical, and eternal. A silent salute to the man who gave us Apu, Goopi, Bagha, Feluda and much more. The man who gave us a new palatte.
