Elaborating on the inextricable link between environment and human beings, Sitangshu Dulal Mondal portrays his state of mind through his paintings. Commencing on 30 May, Elemental Fury, his upcoming exhibition is an odyssey into the realm of the inner and the mysterious.
Debating the contradictions between idealism and materialism, Mondal chooses to express his emotions through the stroke of his brush. His anger against the imbalance in nature and the detrimental role of human beings in shaping it, comes out aloud through his art. Since last two decades, Mondal has been constantly striving to experiment with the content and form of his paintings. In this exhibition, he endeavours to connect and cultivate universal thought that replaces lust for love, greed for gratefulness and anarchy for awareness. Sanguinely, the artist believes in the power of colours. The exhibited paintings seek to explore the forgotten rainbow of human mind and the vastness of our emotions.
