BJP’s overseas convener of the foreign affairs cell Vijay Jolly on Saturday shot off a letter to British high commissioner in Delhi James Bevan expressing his displeasure over the reported harassment of Yoga guru Baba Ramdev at Heathrow airport in London on Friday.
‘The eight hour long questioning of Baba Ramdev without giving any reason is an infringement on fundamental rights. It’s unacceptable, the foreign ministry must intervene,’ said Jolly. ‘The shocking silence of Indian government on harassment of a respected Indian is embarrassing and unacceptable,’ he added. In the letter to Bevan, Jolly said the UK immigration officials are normally expected to act in a reasonable, respected and dignified way with all, especially Indian dharamgurus.
