After nearly 30 years, the Rajasthan government is set to appoint priest, manager and ‘sevagir’ (attendant) in government-run temples and the Devasthan Department, with a reservation of 30 per cent for women.

A total of 65 posts – seven of Manager Grade-II, 47 of priest and 11 of ‘sevagir’ – would be filled through written examination conducted by the Udaipur University.

The recruitment is being done after a gap of about 30 years and earlier there was no reservation for women, Devasthan Department commissioner Bhawani Singh Detha said over telephone from Udaipur.
