Rains likely to return today

The weatherman has predicted pleasant weather and slight to moderate rainfall for the national capital in this week.
'The second spell of monsoon rain will start in the city from Monday and may continue till Friday. However, the extent of rainfall in the city would only be light to moderate,' said a senior officer at the Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi. 'The maximum temperature for the week would hover around 35 degree Celsius and minimum at 28 degree Celsius,' he added.

For Monday, the officer said, 'The maximum temperature is likely to be approximately three degrees below the maximum temperature on Sunday, giving a relief from the  muggy weather the city has experienced in the last week'.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature on Sunday was 39.6 degree Celsius, which is two degrees above normal and the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.8 degree Celsius, two degrees above normal. The maximum and minimum humidity on Sunday was recorded at 74 and 39 per cent respectively.

The weatherman has predicted the maximum and minimum temperature on Monday to be around 35 and 29 degree Celsius, with slight rainfall. 'By slight we mean a rainfall around 0.1mm to 2.4 mm rain in the city,' said the official.
