In an incident of ragging, two school students were hospitalized after allegedly being beaten by their seniors in DPS Noida on Monday. The students have been admitted at a private hospital where they are recuperating. A case has been registered by the police but no arrests have been made so far.

According to the police, these two students were beaten up by rods and sticks in the school hostel, when nearly a dozen class 12th students entered the rooms of class 11th students and asked them to remove their clothes. When two junior students- Dhruv and Yash Pratap refused, they were beaten mercilessly. As both students were attacked by rods and hockey sticks, they suffered severe injuries.

Later the hostel authorities admitted them to Kailash Hospital under pressure from the parents of the victims. According to the parents, the hostel authorities tried to ‘settle’ the matter inside the school premises.

“The accused students had been involved in ragging earlier too, as on May 5 they had reportedly beaten the juniors, but the school management deliberately ignored the incident,” said the family member of one of the victims.

On complaints lodged by parents of Yash Pratap and Dhruv, a case U/S 147,148,149,306,504 of IPC has been registered at Sector 20 police station and six students have been named in the FIR.
