In yet another instance of atrocities on women, a Class XII student was allegedly raped and then brutally beheaded in Faridabad’s Gandhi Colony by a stalker on Thursday afternoon. One person has been arrested by the police.

The victim was on her way to her tuition class in the evening when the incident occurred. According to the police, when the girl did not return home by night, the worried family started searching for her. Failing to locate her, they registered a missing complaint.

Hours later they received a call from the police telling them that a girl’s body had been found at a nearby guesthouse. The family eventually identified the body whose head had almost been severed.

On further investigations by the Haryana police, a friend of the victim from her tuition class revealed that she knew a 30-year-old-man who used to stalk her.

‘She was very disturbed lately and did not speak to anyone,’ she added. The Haryana police rushed to Tawdu village in Mewat and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Sonu, 30.

Meanwhile, the owner of the guesthouse near where victim’s body was found, Geeta Bhasin, said, ‘The couple had come to the guesthouse around 8 pm and asked for a room on rent.’ When asked for a proof of identity, the man said he would give it later. ‘He asked for tea to be sent to the room. But within 15-20 minutes, I saw the man leaving in a rush and on reaching the room I found the girl lying dead,’ she added.

Meanwhile, angered by the incident, people took to the streets in Faridabad to protest against the brutal crime.
