Protesters outside Delhi Secretariat seek jobs, security

While the villagers approached chief minister Arvind Kejriwal with their demands of scrapping Section 81 of land acquisition reforms rule of Delhi, extension of Lal Dora land, the teachers and paramedics staff asked for permanent jobs.

‘We are unaware of the former government’s decision of scrapping section 81 of the Land Reforms Act. We demand a fair procedure of land acquisition and enhanced compensation for the farmers. During the past 15 years, the land which was taken by the government under section 81 shall be returned immediately,’ said Ram Karan Solanki, a resident of Palam village in west Delhi.

Kejriwal agreed to their demands and promised a farmer friendly law of land acquisition policy. He also assured of providing the same benefits, farmers in rest of the country are enjoying.

The contractual paramedics demanded a revision of their pay grade immediately and demanded permanent government jobs on which Kejriwal assured them of proper action within two-three months.
