A 47-year-old property dealer was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Gurgaon’s Udyog Vihar Phase I area on Tuesday morning. It is suspected to be a case of business rivalry, said police. The deceased was identified as Ranvir Pehelwaan, who had left his residence for morning walk around 6 am. It was around 7 am, his body was noticed, lying on one secluded corner, by some employees of a shoe factory situated near the spot. They called up the police and Pehelwaan was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead, said a cop.
Pehelwan received three bullet injuries — one on his abdomen and two on his head. However, the police have not come across any eye witnesses yet. A case was immediately registered under Section 302 (murder) of IPC at the Udyog Vihar police station. Pehelwaan lived with his family at Dundahera village. His body was handed over to his relatives after postmortem examination. His brother, Krishna, later told the police that he was involved in a property dispute regarding a piece of land in the outskirts of Delhi. Investigation of the case is underway and it is being probed from all possible angles, the police official added.
