Prakash panel report not gospel truth: Anil Vij

Update: 2016-06-03 22:31 GMT
Amid outburst from some of those named in the Prakash Singh Committee report on Jat violence, Haryana minister Anil Vij on Thursday said it was not a “gospel truth” but an “informative” report and not binding on the government.

“This is a 451-page report and we are studying each paragraph carefully. It is a report, it is not (holy) Gita that whatever Prakash Singh wrote, all of it has to be right or that those officers, who have been found on the wrong foot are guilty. May be, some officers are very good, their record may be good. We will examine things carefully,” he said. The five-time BJP MLA from Ambala Cantt said the government had taken action wherever it deemed fit. He also said the Committee report was an “informative report” and not binding on the government.
